We are currently seeking a Senior Program Manager (SPM), Membership Engagement to join the Member Services team located in Washington DC. The SPM will be responsible for the development, programming, and execution of on-site and virtually Member programs. The SPM will ensure events and programs achieve the highest level of participant satisfaction and are strongly positioned to yield excellent member value, engagement, support, and sponsorships The SPM will evaluate the effectiveness and performance of programs, content and events through data analytics and implement approved recommendations. This position reports to the Director, Member Engagement.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • In conjunction with the Director, Member Engagement, consultants and ELC Committees, support the development of in-person and virtual member programming and content;
  • Support the design, execution, and measurement of ELC's member engagement and retention strategies, driving innovation, operational excellence and ELC's member value proposition;
  • Monitor and evaluate program and event effectiveness, and implement best practices and changes required for continuous improvement;
  • Develop and implement policies and operating procedures for existing and newly created programs;
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis and summarize data, providing reports that recommend strategies to increase member value, engagement, attendance, while advancing membership priorities;
  • Perform variance analysis on event budgets and costs, identify return on investment opportunities, trends, and make recommendations for improvements;
  • Create engaging, clear and concise event session descriptions and overviews;
  • Prepare sponsorship agreement letters and negotiate and manage vendor contracts;
  • Conduct full-cycle event planning, to include coordinating VIPS, speakers, collateral, branding, rooming lists, decor, catering, signage, equipment, AV, entertainment, travel logistics, vendor payments and virtual meeting platforms;
  • Work directly with venues (e.g., hotel, conference center, etc.) and virtual production companies to plan, organize, and execute all logistics of member meetings, events, conferences, and/or seminars;
  • Collaborate with internal teams, senior leadership, members, key stakeholders and partners as required for events and programs;
  • Collaborate with membership team in the oversight of event day operations, proactively anticipate needs and manage arising issues in a timely manner with a customer-focused and operational excellence approach;
  • Build and maintain strong corporate partner, member and vendor relationships;
  • Be a relentless advocate for the member experience, while understanding how to drive business and mission priorities; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in business, hospitality management, event management or a related field is required. Master's degree in hospitality management, event management, is strongly preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Special Event Professional (CSEP), Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) credentials is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, event management, conference planning, and/or related field is required.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment.
  • Strong MS Project, Access, Excel including Pivot tables, Word and PowerPoint skills desired.
  • Experience with supporting high-stake events using effective project and program management skills.
  • Strong written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills.
  • A commitment to maintaining a positive attitude and high-level of customer service.
  • Demonstrate a strong attention to detail, to include proofreading documents for clarity and grammatical errors.
  • Ability to work with external taskforces or committees by incorporating their input and suggestions yet balancing internal needs and requirements.
  • Ability to examine and re-engineer operations and procedures, developing and implementing new strategies and procedures, taking calculated risks.
  • Driven self-starter who works effectively and efficiently with all colleagues and diverse constituencies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment, demonstrating a professional, flexible and agile approach with short deadlines.
  • Ability to work well under pressure with sound judgment, independently and collaboratively as a team player; demonstrate integrity and a willingness to commit to the overall mission and programs of the ELC.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk. Must be able to lift to 10 pounds at times.
  • Moderate travel is required.
