The Executive Leadership Council is the preeminent member organization for the development of global black leaders. Comprised of more than 800 current and former corporate black CEOs, board members and senior executives at Fortune 1000 and Global 500 companies, entrepreneurs leading top-tier firms, and recognized thought leaders, we open channels of opportunity for the development of black executives to positively impact business and communities.

We are currently seeking a Program Manager, Membership, to join the Member Services team in our Washington, DC office. The Program Manager will be responsible for supporting and executing the overall membership strategy and assist with the management of the organization's membership committee, membership application process, new member onboarding, membership database and membership dues process. This individual will provide support for all aspects of new member growth, working closely with internal departments to support programs, events and member interactions with the goal of elevating member value, enhancing awareness of ELC's brand, and advancing the mission. This position reports to the Director of Membership.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Support the overall membership strategy and management of the organization's membership committee, membership application process, new member onboarding, membership database and membership dues process.
  • Design effective tools and messages to demonstrate the value proposition to potential members and ensure that all stakeholder material clearly communicates this message;
  • Lead effective and efficient membership processes, including but not limited to, nominations and referrals, vetting and selection, and intake, by the utilization of best-in-class documentation practices;
  • Measure and track metrics to meet goals and drive organizational sustainability, cross-functionally collaborating with senior leadership and key stakeholders;
  • Support the design and implementation of an automated member application process, to include ember and applicant written responses
  • Prepare written responses to members and others regarding membership status, membership lapse, dues payments, nominations, member applications, etc.
  • Schedule, facilitate and manage all materials and follow up communication for membership related meetings with the executive committee, board, membership co-chairs and committee;
  • Prepare committee meeting agendas, attend meetings, take meeting notes for distribution to committee members, and record attendance;
  • Update Salesforce daily with changes to member contact info, to ensure accuracy and up-to-date membership data;
  • Manage the Member Services inbox and respond to all inquiries;
  • Be a relentless advocate for the member experience, while understanding how to drive business and mission priorities;
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality improvement;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Demonstrated passion for opening channels of opportunity for the development of black executives.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a related field is required.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a membership organization, that includes managing the full membership life cycle, understanding member experience and value;
  • Exceptional written, interpersonal and communication skills committed to providing excellent customer service.
  • Experience with database management and CRM is required, Salesforce is preferred.
  • Advanced skills using MS Office Suite.
  • Project Management certification preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-stake initiatives using effective project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment with short deadlines, demonstrating a flexible approach.
  • Driven self-starter who works effectively and efficiently with all colleagues, strategic partners to include senior-level executives and CEOs.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times.
  • Travel may be required.
